Leagues and Tournament
We have a box league system for players wishing regular competitive games at their own level. To enter these leagues is simple, first we organise a friendly game and roughly assess your level. We then slot you into a space in our next league session, which run throughout the year, each session is 6 - 7 weeks in length and players have around 5 games to organise and play in this time period. Results are entered onto the league board, which is located adjacent to the gym entrance together with rules and point scoring system. We have a range of tournaments to cater for all levels of player. Our tournaments include a championship for top players, The `Willis Cup` for league 3 - 7 players, a `Micro Cup` for league 7 and below players. A handicap tournament for those of you who have always wanted to make our Pro`s sweat!! and last but not least our Doubles Championships!! Four on a court..... that's fun!!.
Coaching
Mike Elford, our part-time professional, currently plays on the international circuit and has a world ranking of 170. He is a level 2 qualified coach and provides coaching for adults and juniors. Costs and details are available from Reception.
Racket Distribution
Greenacre stock a range of sqaush rackets and accessories, from Karakal and Prince Rackets, to grips and balls, all at great prices. See the Reception shop for all full our range of items.
Restringing
In addition Mike also offers a competitively priced restringing service for squash, badminton and tennis rackets, please contact Mike, or Reception for further details.
Junior Club
Our squash Professional organises our Junior squash sessions which include games, coaching and competitive play.
Court Bookings
Our 3 courts are bookable in 45 minute sessions. These are bookable up to 6 days in advance and can be booked in person or by phone. Courts required for booking in 6 days time may be booked: 2 Courts by phone at 9.30am and the 3rd court by phone at 7.45pm. All `in person` bookings may be booked half an hour after the above times.
All other courts within 6 days may be booked at any time. Non-members may only book on the day that they wish to play. Should a court be cancelled within 24 hours and not be re-let, half the court fee will be payable at members rates. We do have a cancellation list for up to 4 players looking for courts which are cancelled. These are offered on a first come first serve basis.
Matches
Club teams currently play in the Berkshire County Leagues. We have 2 Senior teams which play on alternate Thursday Nights, 2 Vets teams which play on alternate Monday Nights and 1 Ladies team which play on alternate Tuesday Nights.
Occasionally we do have to reserve three courts for tournament matches. |
